You can feel it in the air in the Bitterroot Valley. The birds are louder, the grass is greener, and the Saturday morning line to the landfill is officially back. Neighbors are out raking, mulching, hauling wheelbarrows. The farmer’s market is buzzing again. There’s something about spring that makes all of us want to tidy things up, get things in order, and finally tackle the projects we ignored all winter.
I’ve been doing the same. Both in my own yard and online as well.
While everyone else is refreshing their flower beds and clearing branches, I’ve been helping a few local businesses clean up something just as important: their websites.
We Spring Clean Our Yards—Why Not Our Websites?
It’s kind of funny how we instinctively clear clutter from our garages, closets, and yards this time of year, but we rarely think to give our digital spaces the same treatment.
Outdated winter hours still showing up in Google?
A homepage banner that says “Happy Holidays”?
A “Coming Soon” page that’s been coming for… over a year?
It happens. I get it. But in a place like the Bitterroot Valley—where community and connection matter—your website can’t be an afterthought. People are outside more. They’re looking up local spots on their phones. They’re making weekend plans. If your site is outdated, confusing, or broken, you’re missing a chance to connect.
A Little Refresh Goes a Long Way
You don’t need a full rebuild every time the seasons change. But a spring tune-up? That can do wonders.
Here are a few quick things that make a big difference:
- Update your hours for summer
- Swap in fresh, seasonal photos (yes, things are finally green again!)
- Check that everything still works on mobile
- Remove old announcements or one-off event graphics
- Add any new services, offerings, or team members
It’s not about chasing trends. It’s about making sure your website reflects the same care and quality you put into your business every day.
What I’ve Been Working On
Since the start of the year, I’ve had the chance to work with some incredible local businesses on new websites—some full redesigns, others built from scratch. Each one had its own personality, challenges, and charm. And honestly? That variety is what keeps this work exciting.
If you’re curious what I’ve been up to lately, here are a few of the websites that have recently gone live (or are just about to):
- Alpine Custom Builders
- Bitterroot Phlebotomy
- Zaxan Coffee Roasters
- AJ Global Security
- EZ Bath
- Aircraft Structural Repair
- Thomas Landscape
- Armet Metabolic Health
- Darby Public Library
Every one of these projects started with a conversation and a goal—and ended with a site that reflects who they are and how they serve their customers. That’s the sweet spot for me.
If Your Website Still Has Snow in the Header Photo…
It might be time.
If you haven’t looked at your own website in a while, you’re not alone. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth checking in on. A few small updates can go a long way in helping your site feel fresh, relevant, and ready for the season ahead.
I’ve got a couple openings this spring for quick refresh projects and a few full rebuilds. If you’re ready to dust off your digital presence—or even just want an honest assessment—I’d be happy to chat.
See You at the Market (Or in Your Inbox)
Until then, I’ll be enjoying the lilacs, pulling weeds, and thinking about websites—both on screen and off. And maybe grabbing some lettuce at the farmer’s market.
If your site could use a little love, you know where to find me.
